AFL Grand Final at the Clubhouse in Shinjuku - probably the best since'89. It was wall-to-wall Australians, and VB, Crowns, and some not-very-cold Cascade Premiums were on hand (for a rather princely 700 Yeach - or just over $10).

The Autumn Sumo Tournament has just finished, with Somoan-born Musashimaru beating Takenohana in the final bout. The bouts were televised each day from 3pm - 6pm, which meant we watched the last houror so each day. Although the fights are often over in a matter of seconds, watching some of the close fights was great.
This was Takenohana's comeback tournament, after sitting out the last 18months with a knee injury. Before that, he was virtually unstoppable, sortof like Monica Seles before she got attacked by that guy with the knife.
Musashimaru outweighed him by almost 100 kilos - 237kg to 149kg, so the final was a bit of a one-horse race.
Kathleen had Hakusan's cultural festival this weekend, and was roped into the English Club's bingo and Scrabble game.
